Vision Power Factx offers integrated services in Energy Conservation in service industry. Services in conservation of electrical energy, HVAC & lighting are provided by in-house engineering and applications other than electricity namely thermal, mechanical, process, water, etc are catered to through outsourcing.
Large industrial, commercial & industrial establishments could benefit from energy conservation program alike. The benefits could be classified into direct & indirect. Direct benefits include achievement of saving in electricity bills increasing profitability. Indirect benefits include enhancement of service life of electrical equipments, reduction of electrical faults, improved safety, optimum utilization of equipments and a sense of satisfaction to be a part of energy conservation program that is gathering momentum nationwide. Energy conservation program is carried out in a number of steps in sequence. The first step to energy conservation is energy audit.
Preliminary Energy Audit is aimed at identifying certain basic signposts or potentials and involves a simple tour of the customer's premise to visually inspect various equipments, installations and collection of basic data like load list, electricity bills and operational details. Preliminary audit helps to inform if it would be feasible to carry out an energy audit program at a customer's premise. It also identifies the areas to focus at.
Preliminary audit is concluded with report that includes simple classification of data and identification of potential areas of energy conservation.
Detailed Energy Audit is based on findings of preliminary audit.
It involves more elaborate activities at field that include thorough inspection of equipments, measurement of consumption of energy and load cycle, study of operation, performance requirement and finally discussions with customer's operation & maintenance team to identify problems, expectations and earlier attempts of energy conservation, if any. This audit requires deputation of energy auditing engineer & technician to the field with appropriate instrumentation and tools.
Detailed energy audit is concluded with report that includes energy consumption & load cycle of mains or transformer, identified equipments or systems, comparison with manufacturer's data and required performance, identification of sources of wastage of energy and remedies to correct the same, estimate to carry out corrections and payback calculations. Submittal of report is followed by meeting at the customer's premise with concerned personnel to discuss various aspects and corrections suggested in the report to device an energy conservation program.
Implementation of energy conservation program begins with approval of customer on proposal offered in the report of detailed energy audit. A formal agreement is signed and work order is issued on the basis of proposal, scope of work is defined and program is split into a number of stages; the equipments with higher consumption and poorer performance are being scheduled first. Each equipment or system is offered with a projected saving and undergoes necessary modification, fine tuning or retrofit. Equipments operating at the end of their service lives or with higher history of faults are usually poor performers and advised to be replaced with their energy efficient counterparts.
Implementation also includes fine tuning of a system to the required parameters. This activity involves calibration and improvement in the operation & maintenance program and setting of norms. The scope of work includes design & detail engineering, preparation of drawings, measurement sheets, schedule for operation & maintenance, etc.
